Where did you practice?

You had to practice somewhere.
So where was it?
Parking lots?
Open streets?
Or are there special tracks near most big cities for people like me?
I live in the Chicago area btw.

First parking lots, then residential streets, then side streets, then main streets.

Highways came a bit later.

oh wth...drag racing.

definitely not streets or parking lots.

tracks usually have days where you can do 1/4 mi runs for a small price.

but drag racing is for retards anyways. real racing involves turns.

Well basically I just wanna go somewhere near the chicago area where I can legally race with friends, strangers or just against the clock.

I tried googling dragstrips in the chicago area but I couldn't find what I was looking for.

Anyone know of any places like this, or any website that might have a list?

Is Joliet near you? If so, there is a huge drag strip called Route 66 Raceway next to Chicagoland Speedway.

In many cases, yup. It's all difficult though.
