2008 Golf GTI Vs 2008-2007 infiniti G37

Post by VWraffaele »

I Smoked that g37 today. I
s that easy to do? I was reading it has a 3.7 L V6 engine which produces 330 hp. Compared to mine which is a 2.O L V4 engine with 200 hp.
It put up a small fight like we were side by side but in the end i passed him, twice. While already moving and from a stop. I had the sickest launch too,
That can be why. For my first race it wasn't bad. It was in a close area too, no cars just road so it's good.

So is it easy to beat a g37 with a gti?

which i did :D

Just out of curiosity - is this at all related to your "speeding ticket" thread?

The person in the G37 probably didn't even know you guys were racing.

The G37 is faster than my car, and my car has a good chance at beating your car.

2.0T V4

Yeah he did. He waited for me so we can get side by side and take off. Almost though out the whole time we were side by side untill i passed him.

and it looked like G37, might of been a G35. Not sure

And no it's not regarding the speeding ticket. That was on the way home. This was before school

2.0T FSI?

they're pretty peppy..not fast. That guy should of beat you. Even if you had DSG he should of been able to get a pretty good lead.

are the G37's even out yet?

I"m trying to talk my dad into getting one, but he wants the new CTS. I suppose I can't complain though, when he does, he said he's gonna get the Direct injected V6. 302HP from a 3.6L V6. What is wrong with this picture...Only bad thing is it weighs just under 3900lbs.

The G37's are most definitely out because I've seen 10 or so of them so far.

With respect, a G37 (possibly even a G35) would have been a very difficult vehicle to beat if actually racing. The fact that you beat him with ease may mean he wasn't pushing his vehicle to the limit.

That's OK - when you lose, just do the ricer-flyby!

G35/G37s are relatively fast cars, so if the drivers were equally skilled (and equally involved in the drag), I think our cars wouldn't be able to keep up. I drove a 350z before, which is essentially the same as a G35. It was fast; not as fast as I had anticipated, but I would still think it's faster than the GTI, unfortunately. What you need is a chip and some sort of limited slip diff. But either way, going through the twisties is where the fun is at.
