03 galant...or 04 lancer es?

Post by JRicoCTG »

heres the story. an 03 mitsubishi galant has 140 hp and 155 ft lbs torque.
a lancer es has 120 hp with 130 ft lbs torque.

the lancer pulls on the galant very hard....from a dig and a 40 mph roll.

what gives?

The Lancer is FWD.

Galant is heavier than Lancer. Sole reason.

Get the Galant Ralliart and you could smoke circles around your friend in the puny Lancer.

Yeah, unless you have the higher trims like the evo, then they become AWD.

The Evo is not a "trim" of the Lancer. It is a different car. This is similar to saying the STI is a "trim" package of the Impreza. It's not.

Actually the STi is a "trim" of the Impreza. Same chassis, same body ... what else would you call it if not a "trim".

After all, it is a Subaru Impreza WRX STi ... there is no such thing as a Subaru STi.

Okay, bad example. I think the Mazda6/Mazdaspeed6 would fit better.

I strongly dislike the FWD Lancer. In Vidalia you see them too much and some w*ggers were driving around in one acting all gangsta and crap, so I put 'em in their place when the walked in McDonalds about a week ago. 8)

Now, the EVO IX MR, on the other hand,= <SEX ON WHEELS Image

I just call it a WRX STi, saying the letters when I'm being serious, and "Wrecks Sty" when I'm not.

Mazdaspeed6 is still a trim of a Mazda6. They just turboed the 2.3L and gave it all wheel drive, some nice trim and body aero but underneath it's still a Mazda6. If you want a real example how about the Toyota Corolla and the Toyota Corolla Matrix. Same engines, and platform but completely different bodys.

I guess it is and isn't. its still a lancer, so its technically a trim level of the lancer. It is a whole different animal though, so I guess that is where it could be considered more than a trim level.
