Re: Pets of Standardshift.com
I grew up with a lot of pets (multiple dogs and cats at a time) so I'm taking a few years off from having pets in college, haha. It's nice not having the responsibility and also not having any messes anywhere or hair everywhere, but I do kind of miss having pets. I'll probably get a dog after I graduate and get a long term job. Four years or so of having no pets should be a good break, I think.

^^ I <3 KITTEHS j00r's is cute
Here's mine:
Spot:
Captain Pineapple:
Claude Hooper Bukowski:
Floyd Pearl Kuhn:
[Floyd and Claude are brothers]
Crazy part is, all 4 of them were caught in our backyard (we've had a problem with stray cats in the neighborhood for a while). My brother also has 2 cats that were caught in our backyard (one of them is Captain's brother). I bet they're all related in some way.
Claude is scare:
Captain when he was a wee young lad:
Most of the pics with Claude and Floyd are actually a couple months old. Claude got a little chubby, and Floyd got HUGE (muscular, long, tall, etc)!!
I <3 my kittehs. And all kittehs. Me and Captain are BFFLs.

Re: Pets of Standardshift.com
Hmm...seems I've somehow managed not to post my kittah pictures in this thread.
Darwin is the newest. We got him from the local shelter a couple years ago. We had gone just to cuddle some kitties and couldn't resist. He is mischievous, cuddly, cute, mostly obedient, comes when he's called, follows people around the house, etc.
As a kitten:
(That last picture he is next to Smokey.)
As a grown-up:
Darwin is ceiling cat and Smokey is basement cat. That is not only because of their coloring, but because Darwin runs into the attic whenever we open it, and Smokey runs into the basement whenever she's scared.
Smokey is the other meowmeow we currently have. I went to help someone move out of an apartment and she was planning on releasing Smokey to the neighborhood as a stray. I couldn't let that happen.
Smokey goes through phases...
When I first got her she was scared, cuddly, and somewhat normal. We were temporarily living in my camper.
Then we moved into my house with my wife and Smokey was not so interested in me anymore.
Then we got Darwin and she was almost killing him. Then he was attacking her. It went back and forth for a while.
Then Darwin got bigger than Smokey and Smokey got to always resenting Darwin. She growls and hisses whenever he gets too close.
Around that time is when she started puking. That sucks. She pukes a lot. Must be from stress.
Buttons was the kittah I grew up with. She was the best cat ever.
Chelsea is my parents' cat. She's a little cranky but very fluffy.
These are some neighborhood strays I befriended. The mama (big grey one) was uneasy about letting me hold her but she didn't mind me holding her kittens. The cutest kitten, a tiny grey one, was reportedly adopted by a neighbor before I got these pictures.
