Re: Your Latest Purchase
9 tooth? Isn't that smaller than the hub? Last I knew, 11t was the smallest possible.

It was the smallest McMaster Carr had. Anyway, less teeth on the engine-driven sprocket=moar torque. Moar torque=less speed=less stained underwear.theholycow wrote:9 tooth? Isn't that smaller than the hub? Last I knew, 11t was the smallest possible.

These boots are made for walking. A lot.Squint wrote:Are those special boots of some variety tups? Because that would be considered expensive over here, even for specialized shoes.
They're just technical hiking/hunting shoes. Not even the most expensive ones:
Hunter Pro is a hunting boot in full grain leather and with GORE-TEX® Ultimate membrane. Vikings high-tech UGC® sole in rubber/PU, especially designed for support and comfort. This will secure extra good grip in rough and uneven terrain and climates. The boot has a really good fitting.

I upgraded to Lion yesterday as well. I like it, but the fact that the scrolling is now backwards is annoying. I'm still getting used to it.Chris H. wrote:
I also bought four of these:
The Continental ExtremeContact DWS in 225/40ZR18. I'm pretty impressed so far. Noticeable reduction in road noise, less vibration transmitted to the steering wheel, great grip (though I've only been able to confirm that in the dry so far), and pretty good comfort.
Driving stick since April 8th, 2008.

I haven't installed it yet. I'm a bit timid about Lion right now...the reviews are...how shall I say this...mixed.Zexel wrote:I upgraded to Lion yesterday as well. I like it, but the fact that the scrolling is now backwards is annoying. I'm still getting used to it.Chris H. wrote:
I lack a 4GB thumb drive right now in which to save the InstallESD file too...so I'm still running SL. I need to play around with Lion at like, the Apple Store or something...BestBuy doesn't have them running Lion yet.

I'm building a motorized bicycle since my knee would kill me if I tried pedaling any distance. Also 150MPG.theholycow wrote:Engine? I'm thinking about it, since I priced the gears on McMaster Carr last night, and the grand total was a princely $89.06.
