I saw this the other week... it actually looks like a pretty cool idea, as long as it can be implemented well. Of course, it all goes downhill as soon as someone runs the light and gets annihilated by one of those things.

People can't stay in their lanes here. We all know it. Someone is gonna stop at a light and get their mirror taken off by this thing. However, I like the concept a lot.

How about they build a special road for it?

You know, above the regular roadway.

With a track, so that it wont have to yield to other cars?

We tried that. Nobody want's to live near where the train runs and employers don't want to have to locate along side the train routes. The whole concept of successful mass transit relies on high density living and working and shopping and playing along the route. When things get spread out, personal transportation becomes necessary.
