I've kind of always wanted to deck out my living room with furniture made from old car parts a la Top Gear studio. Coffee table made from an engine block, car seat chairs that sort of thing.

I wanted to go to a junkyard and rip the driver seat out of a Cadillac and make an office chair out of it then wire up the power controls.

Saab seats make fantastic furniture

Clearly an area rug and perhaps some other furniture are needed to liven up the room.

Still not. Bench seats from a minivan make great seating in the garage but by no means do car seats make good-looking furniture inside the house. At least not in this form.

I've been thinking of getting some old train seats, but then again I have no place for them. I don't think my dad wants to have them in his garage...

For car seats, all you need to do is get someone to weld up a frame for ya, can even ad bolt holes to match the old seat mounts.
