Well I took is for another spin today with my mother-in-law who's been driving stick for 30 years. She said it's acting very funny when starting in first. It shakes and bucks and stalls. She said it wasnt starting off right. Any ideas?

If the car is running fine otherwise, it means that she may not be used to the clutch either.

Especially someone with that occupation... they really, really have to be ugly. It's almost as if the fact that it's a female race car driver makes them that much hotter.

Danica's attractiveness is average at best.Though her racing skills are commendable.

Dancia's about a 6.5, in my opinion. I think some of the 9.5 of Rachael Ray is oozing onto Dancia, making her about a 7.9-8.1 in those pictures. And yes, whenever a celebrity teaches another celebrity to drive stick, it's an OMG! moment. I remember reading about one of the head editors of (I think) Car and Driver magazine teaching an intern how to drive a stick...in his Ford GT. And that was newsworthy. Honestly, WTF? Do people deserve a cookie when they learn how to drive a stick?

Welcome to the site!

Regarding launch RPMs, I tend to launch my car at 2000 on flat ground, mostly because when cold it idles at ~1200 and no-gas launching makes for a sloooooow launch. If I accidentally launch at 4000, my crappy all season tires break loose.
