My first MT car!

Post by breakd0wn88 »

Hello everyone, I am fairly new to these forums. I found this site while searching the basics on how to drive a stickshift. (I had to basically teach myself since everyone I know drives a slush box  ) Now that i've been driving for about two months and have a lot more confidence, I really enjoy driving a 5-spd over an auto.

My car is a 2001 Honda Civic Hx, what do you guys think?

OMG HX! I remember I used to think the "H" stood for Hybrid. 'Course now I know it just means hella awesome. :) How hard was it to find?

VTEC :P It bumps up the hp by 10 and the gas mileage by somewhere around 4-5 MPG over the manual DX/LX. Nothing huge but HX's are pretty rare.

I just happened to find it while searching for a used civic on cars.com. I had to drive out of state to buy it, but it was well worth it. I had never heard of a HX trim before, and to this day havent seen another one on the road. Gotta love the VTEC, and its still amazing on gas (about 35-38mpg)

HX is the trim with the lean burn engine to increase mileage.

the automatic version gets a CVT instead of a 4 speed.
