I just bought my first car. I was driving an automatic 96 Ford Taurus. Here is my new obssesion. 2001 beetle gls 5spd.

welcome to the site :D nice looking ride you've got there. i like the way it reflects the green grass in those shots.

nice ride im the only one on standardshift without a permit huh lol. anyways have fun in your new car

Ive been looking around the site for a few days. Ive learnt so many good tips. This is my first manual transmission car. When I picked the car up from the dealer they had a driving instructor take me out and teach me a few things.

Anyways now Im rambling lol

its all good at least you learned to drive it some ppl get the car and stall/lug off the lot lol
Take it from 4th to 2nd and take the corner no problem ^_^

hah, when i bought my STi there were a few guys with a couple of modded STis outside the lot when i left. they said congrats and i said thanks and then proceeded to over-rev, chirp the tires, and buck around a bit leaving the lot. :oops: :oops:

Welcome to SS! The Beetle is a lot of fun to drive, especially in 5-speed form.

I currently have your old car (1999 Taurus), so I feel your pain. :wink:

I never really liked the "stock" flowers on the dash LOL.

lol if I ever get a Beetle, before I leave the realership, i would take the flowers out, put it under the front wheels, and peel out of there :P
