You've got an Eclipse GS!?! Post pictures!
Pictures of my Eclipse are here: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=11530
Enjoy good reliability with yours since it has a Chrysler engine! haha Treat it nice, though since those engines like head gaskets. But otherwise there's nothing wrong with them!
If you can't tell already, I've got all the Chrysler knowledge. So if you've got any questions about anything, don't hesitate to ask!

I understand what you're saying, but he could have had the 7-blot Mitsubishi motor... Either way you cut it, the Chrysler motor will win out, even if they do like to blow head gaskets. Its reliable anyway, and makes alright power, I think its rate at 140hp and 130ft-lbs.
At least he doesn't have the 3.8L V6 Mustang. That engine will go through a set of head gaskets in 60,000 miles. You can give the Chrysler at least 90,000-100,000 miles before it goes NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM to a set of head gaskets.

Re: Welcome to Standardshift!
Thanks a lot! Your Eclipse is hella nice, too. Since your car has no turbo, you have the Chrysler 420A motor. They're good motors and they'll take some shit and be really easy to work on. Just watch your temperature gauge and be sure to stop when it starts to climb above half.
If the head gasket is good and you have no oil leaks, you've got a very reliable car!

Re: Welcome to Standardshift!
Thanks, so far i haven't had any problems with it. So I guess it was a good thing I didn't get one with a turbo.

Hope you don't mind... I'll go ahead and move it. But you have to admit, it's possibly the best skill a female can posses.

I'll post a link, but I don't want to get a mod pissed since the picture is basically the opposite of on-topic.

Hello and thanks I've owned 5 Standard shift cars over the last 25 years because I prefer the row my own gears (and its fun). Many people consider others who drive manual cars are on the lunatic fringe. I consider the people who say that are lazy and don’t know how to have fun driving a car.Johnf514 wrote:This thread is for our new members to come out and say hello.
