Hey there! How awesome to find a forum dedicated to manual cars. I'm (as the title says) a Canadian, from Toronto. I drive a Subaru Impreza, no not WRX or STi, I can't afford it

Hope to see you around

Welcome to the forum! One of these days I should make the 6 hour drive to Canada, I'm weak with my geography, but I think I'm due south of Manitoba. There are enough Canadians on the forum to make it worth it.

Manitoba is not that interesting. Still might be worth the trip though.

OP, I'm also a Canadian Impreza owner.

I more mentioned it so that I couldn't be accused of thinking all Canadians are the same. :)

London, that's pretty close, I was just by there.

Lol took a look at your pics, notice they haven't changed the shifter since '07 lol.

Yeah, it's probably easier and cheaper than designing a new knob (giggity) for every model every few years. It's the same shifter from the legacy, forester, impreza, wrx, etc.

my old 02 impreza got the shaft with the cheap rubber knob - had to replace it with the walmart special leather knob. the rubber knob was sticky as watkin's mom when i was trying to sell the car, and the stickyness wouldn't wash off.

Since we're talking about knobs, I prefer my knob over my dad's. It looks better.

His is two years older than mine and has that ghetto faux-retro thing going. Makes me pukey.

Perhaps watkins' mom used the car before you. Not drove it anywhere, just used the knob.
