I learned how to drive a stick about ten months ago when I bought my first car, a 2001 Chevy S-10 2.2L 5-speed manual. I love driving it!

The 2.2L is a great engine. You would love a S-10. Make sure you buy the 4cyl/manual trans combo, the V6 is overkill for that truck in my opinion.dakota1820 wrote:The good ol 2.2I sold my f150 but have been thinking of buying a s10 in the next year or so.
Yes, you can have a lot of fun with a small 4cyl manual transmission truck and still get great fuel economy!RomPirate wrote:Small truck + manual trans = WIN

For Sure. Like my 2.3L Ranger pickup. You can wind it out and lurch the vehicle on the 1-2 shift, have a blast and still not be going insanely fast. Just as much fun, a lot safer. Here in michigan the salt ususally destroys the truck long before the engine can wear out, so my philosophy is drive 'em hard. After all, you only get one shot at life, may as well enjoy it!
That S10 is one fine looking truck. Very sporty looking. Nice color. I like it. Want to sell it? I'll trade you a nice Ranger that has brand new clutch, pp, throwout, pilot, slave and master.
