Like most people, I stalked this forum for a few weeks/month after accidentally finding it while reading about driving a stick. The quick bio is 23 yr old, married guy, who has not owned a stick but wants one after getting into cars over the past couple of years. One of my former roommates was a huge fan of Top Gear (the British one) and got me hooked. I'm slowly becoming a car nut... luckily, my wife is fairly indifferent to me like this, as long as I'm not too obnoxious

Cars:

Former:
'90 Volvo 740 Station Wagon

Current:
'97 Honda Civic EX - Auto (sorry  )
'00 Mazda 626 LX - 5MT - wife's mostly, I drive it some

Want:
'11 Ford Fiesta Hatch - 5 spd MT

Hola! You should join the other peeps for the SS meet this summer. You're probably pretty close.

I'll look into it, more likely if I have a SS by that time :D

Not that I'm complaining about the cars that I own, they were cheap and provide good (mostly) transportation. But over the past few months, I'm enjoying driving a stick more and more.

Besides, as your sig notes: the civic is only barely faster than a cart... If I have that speed, I at least want it to be slightly more fun to drive

Haha. Yeah dude. It isn't super fast, but its a blast to drive. It has good response and handling. Decent gas mileage and a screaming little engine. I love it. I know if I start buying bolt ons, it'll go straight downhill from there  . Best of luck finding a ride and don't be a stranger here! :)

Welcome! I bet I'm not the only one who read your title as "New from VW."

My love for cars returned about five years ago, and it keeps getting stronger. The internet has a lot to offer the car fan.

Welcome again, and if you've been here more than a week, you've probably noticed most active topics are car-related, but not necessarily manual transmission-related, so feel free to post about anything.
