New stick shifter tearin up the road!!
Hello!
I originally came to found myself on this forum because I bought my first manual last month (without knowing how to drive it). I had the weekend to learn before I had to be able to drive it to work. I live in LA and I'm often in traffic so it was a really a challenge!
I'm glad that I found this community of stick shifting enthusiasts, I was beginning to get a little discouraged by all the "why the hell did you do that???" and "it's gonna be a NIGHTMARE in traffic" reactions from my acquaintences. I guess I got a manual mostly for non-practical reasons--I have been becoming more and more of an F1 and Top Gear loving "car person" and that just didn't seem right with me not knowing how to drive a stick. Plus, I wanted to get more out of the driving experience since i spend so much time in my car anyway.
I'm glad to finally have introduced myself here. Your tips and enthusiasm have helped me out alot as i was getting over the most difficult part of the learning curve. I still feel nervous about parking in tight spaces because my maneuvering isn't smooth yet.
My car is a black 2011 Mustang v6. I'm sure you all have seen a bunch of these handsome fellas on the road so you won't be needing my pics

Welcome!
I actually prefer manual in traffic. Autocreep annoys me.

This week I've been exploring the usefulness of the no-gas launch which I learned here. Or should I call it manucreep?
