New to standardshift.com

Post by 07_Mustang V6 »

Hey,

My name is Patrick and I drive a 2007 Ford Mustang V6 5-speed. I just turned 16 a month ago and drove automatic until this point. I'm from Germany and moved to the states right about 6 years ago. Just scouting around the site I noticed I still have ALOT to learn and hopefully I can get some help with the things I may be doing wrong. I'll be posting pictures soon seeing as I have 12" stripes and new HALO headlights sitting in my room. Apparently it is too cold to put the stripes on (I live in Florida...) and I have to wait for my friend from Germany for the headlights.

Btw anybody from Florida get up this morning and had a layer of ice on their windshield?...That's a first.

Cya guys around!

Yeah that's how it is for me. My parents care to "save money" wherever possible. So we barely have any heat on at all. Also soccer season is terrible considering the fact that you stretch and run, captains go to the ref and your muscles are already cold and tight again. Anyways thanks for replying!

Welcome. Why did your parents come to the US from Germany?

A good friend of mine moved to Germany, from the US. He went there as part of his schooling, and ended up marrying a nice girl there. They come here when they can, but he hasn't been able to find work as an engineer here so they live there.

Well we had been going on vacation here for about 12 years. I had asthma in Germany and every time we would visit here it would fade. Now it's gone completely and I don't really feel anything except after suicides at practice. Plus we always just liked Florida.

Thanks. I miss the snow. Apparently it's supposed to snow in Florida within the next 2 weeks. According to a buddy of mine it snowed in the neighboring town today but I'm not 100% sure if it's true or not.

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
entering the Gnome Valley Kingdom
with tangerine trees, and marmalade porkchops.
Someone calls you, you answer with haste,
a man with a clutch in his hand.
Celefane shift boots of yellow and green, towering over your head.
Look for the man with the clutch in his hand and hes gone.
Noob in the land of Gnomes.
Noob in the land of Gnomes.
Noob in the land of Gnomes.
Follow him down to the thread by a fountain.
Where a bunch of men talk about marshmellow pie.
Everyone smiles a you drift around the corner.
Then they all get high.
Clutch holding men appear on the shore, waiting to take you away.
Noob in the land of Gnomes. Noob in the land of Gnomes. Noob in the land of Gnomes.
Picture yourself in a forum of transmissions.
With plastercine cars, and lookingglass Gnomes.
Look to the left and who do you see?
The man with a clutch in his hand.
Noob in the land of Gnomes.
Noob in the land of Gnomes.
Noob in the land of Gnomes

Oh shnap, another white Mustang!

Welcome dude, we are like the same person, except I'm more than twice your age and much nerdier. And my family emigrated from Germany a few generations back, though I was just in Munich last year visiting friends. Too many kids wearing Yankees hats in that country. I have family in Fort Lauderdale too, and used to spend a lot of time in Punta Gorda. See, same person!

If you are looking for parts for your car, check out http://www.newtakeoff.com. Plenty of brand new stuff at super cheap prices, and plenty of GT parts will bolt on to the V6. And don't let any haters hate on the V6 4.0; it's still faster than the most cars out there, and one of the fastest cars at its price point. And it takes mods easily and there are plenty for it. Those cobra emblems alone added 5 hp.

Welcome again.

those mustangs make like 200 horsepower and weigh like 3500 pounds. sorry, not fast. some stock honda 4-cylinders (k-series) make more power than that v6, and weigh literally half as much

Today I learned that these Stangs will do mid to high 15's in the quarter mile in stock form. It's not that bad.

So which Hondas are these you speak of?, and how much do they cost in comparison to a v6 Mustang? (This is a real question, I don't know my Honda engine codes.)

I know the Prelude is faster, and I'm sure the Civic Si probably is, too. And the newish V6 Accords are very fast. But none of these compare price-wise to the Mustang. If I'm missing cars, please let me know.
