Cavy Driver

Post by Levi_Maverikk »

Hi, I drive an 03 Chevy Cavalier, and was referred to this site by a fellow member on an enthusiast site. I am looking to improve my manual abilities greatly and will probably have no shortage of questions to ask. 8)

Shoutin' out to my fellow Cavy owner.
Welcome, brother.
I drive a beat up (definitely on its way to a painful death and the great salvage yard in the sky) '94 2.2L 5MT Coupe.
It's blue, with rusted quarters, rockers, a rear bumper that's a huge bump away from falling off, (typical banes of a 2nd gen Cavalier) peeling paint because the guy who last repainted it just painted over the peeling paint (I would've thought that'd be common sense? Oh, wait...) and the engine has started losing compression... Bigtime.

My first car. I will miss it.

I'll help in any way that I can, especially if you do your own wrenching.

This is pretty much the place to be on the net for manual transmissions, but I know a couple places you could go if you get into a squirrely issue with repairs.

Welcome, and enjoy your stay.

Oh, and before I forget. I've never driven a manual 3rd gen, but I can certainly say that H/T shifting is a bit of a challenge on my ride. Fun though, especially a nice crisp sequential DCHT 5-2. 8)
