New Guy from Idaho

Post by InkyRail »

How's it going guys? My name is Josh. I found this site through a manual transmission Facebook group. No matter what I can't bring myself to drive anything with an...automatic. I drive an '02 Honda Accord with a 4 cylinder and a 5 speed. Here's a pic:

And just in case someone doubts that there are Accords with manual transmissions (other than the really old ones and the new V6 6speeds) here is a pic of the interior:

I love my car- it is very well balanced. It's fun just to find a twisty road and tear it up, and after two years I still don't think I've found the cars limit. Anyway I look forward to hanging out with you guys!

Welcome! Nice to have you here.
If you have any questions, just ask.

I like the car. How many miles on her?

Here's my suggestion. Never find the limit. When you know you're getting close, quit while you're ahead.

Once again, welcome to Standardshift.

That's still one of my favorite cars... between my mom and I, we've been through four accords... each one was a pleasure.

yea good car, looks tidy.

about finding the cars limit.... yea you dont want to. Thats why i put better and bigger tires on the 2 to push the limit up. Its not fun when you hit huge understeer and your front wheels loose all traction, or when they get traction again and the back usually goes. I've found the limit a couple of times, luckily there was a runoff on both ocassions. but that was due to old tires, the new ones make the car far better.

Thanks for the welcome! I hear you guys about the limit- I don't intend on going looking for it. I was just remarking on how nimble this "family sedan" is.

comingbackdown- I am just approaching 75,000 miles on it.

Only thing I suggest to find a limit would be a huge open spot, preferably a truck docking area when there are no trucks of course, like this one:

Whenever I want to have fun/test my cornering limits, I go to the one near me. Cops have never complained, the company doesn't care (my friend talked to the security guard), and it's MUCH safer than the street.

Nice accord. I've gotten to drive most generations; great cars needless to say.

Yep, they're awesome cars. My dad has a '99 slush V6. Awesome car. Amazing seats, great ride, quick, and it sounds nice when you push it 8)

Thanks again, guys!

OzzyMan- I saw your thread where you posted pictures of different shows and meets that you've been to. Did you leave the state for them? I have seen anything of that nature since I moved up here from Southern California.
