Quick hello
Hello all,
My name is Val
I drive a SAAB 1999 9-5 manual which will soon be getting a stage 2 ECU tune. My last 3 cars have all been SAABs and all with manual gearboxes and as far as I am concerned automatics are only good if you are missing a leg, otherwise they are too complex, too heavy, and don't allow control/feel or true interaction with the car. Mainly though they are just no fun.
Anyways... here it is on the mountain pass at one of the windy roads at Cadillac Mountain in Bar Harbor Maine.

Thank you!blauenlanze wrote:Nice road. Welcome Saaber!
My first car was actually an Accord. It was a 1987 DX sedan and it was an excellent car that handled extremely well. Sadly it was an automatic which meant that grandmas in Buicks pulled away from me at traffic lights. I would love to have an 86-89 LXi with a 5-speed box but they are so hard to find without any rust.

+1. Those Accords were amazing, I also have driven one in auto, but they would be terrific in stick.valbowski1980 wrote:Thank you!blauenlanze wrote:Nice road. Welcome Saaber!

Honda/Acura have some of the nicest gearboxes out there compared to any car at any price.94Corolla5Speed wrote:+1. Those Accords were amazing, I also have driven one in auto, but they would be terrific in stick.

My autobox Accord was just that slow. To put it into perspective it only had 98 bhp when new and wasn't fuel injected. It did take corners very well though.
