new driver from DC

Post by yinn »

hey everyone, i live in the suburbs JUST outside of DC (i live in maryland actually, but DC is a lot easier to explain to people), i used to live in manhattan.

i'm getting my license pretty soon and a car (hopefully), i can drive an AT reasonably well but i've always been interested in MT mostly out of curiosity

i've been reading standardshift forums a lot lately which has me pretty much set on driving a manual transmission car, i'm looking to get one in a reasonable price range, any suggestions?

Welcome.

As far as Im concerned, if you can only drive "reasonably well" you need to step back and get some more practice before youre allowed on the road alone.

That said, Ill ask you the same things we here ask everyone who poses the question you did:
What kind of cars are you interested in? Do you like coupes, sedans, hatchbacks, SUVs, trucks, convertibles? Fast cars, slow cars, average cars? Old cars, new cars, classic cars? FWD, RWD, AWD? Sporty, eco-friendly, heavy hauler? Most importantly, whats your budget?
