You've come to the right place to learn how to drive stick.
I'm sure it's only a matter of time before this thread is inundated with advice.
With some very basic knowledge of what that pedal over on the left does and how it works, you can teach yourself over the course of a few days and become a Master Standard-shifter. Just get in the car and play with it. You'll figure it out; that's what I did.

Hey Iceberg - welcome!
All good advice above ^^. Kick around the site a little and ask away. Do you know anyone that would be willing to give you a lesson or two in thier stickshift? Read up here first and then give it a go.

Where'd Iceberg go
Here's how you do it Iceberg
Make sure the ebrake is set
Wiggle the shifter til it moves freely back and forth
Now it's in neutral
Push down the left pedal with your left foot
If you have a hard time pushing the pedal all the way in, move your seat up til your leg's still slightly bent with the clutch in all the way
Turn the key to ignition
Let the clutch out
Now take a deep breath
Look around you to see if you wanna move forward or backward
Check your mirrors
Push the clutch back in all the way
For first move the shifter to the left and forward
For reverse move the shifter to the right and back (see shift pattern on stick)
Now let the clutch out nice and slow
When you feel it grab rest your right foot on the gas pedal
Let up the clutch a little more
Put a little more weight on the gas pedal
Take a little more weight off the clutch
Rinse and repeat
Off you go
This is how we roll

Lets not waste time BSing him about how he can drive it home with no prior experience- more than likely; it ain't gonna happen. What you need to do- is let the seller bring it to your house. or go to a mall- and look for fat older guys, that have a hint of red on their neck- and tell them you'll pay them if they can lend you a helping hand. After that- we'll help ya get rolin'.
