215
you can rock different tires front and back. as long as you got same tires on the same axle youll be fine. different tire companies sizing runs different, i know from my tires, goodyears 245 is quite a bit wider than BFG 245.
then you can rotate the tires and mess with handling

Absolutely, you probably missed a part of it in a post just above.jomotopia wrote:on "regular" cars maybe, but high performance cars usually come with pretty good high performance tires. the STi comes with Bridgestone Potenze RE070s, which i hear are really awesome in the dry. my car had some crappy all seasons on it when i bought it (used) so i've never driven on them.AHTOXA wrote:One thing holds true - OE tires are always pretty low end.
the OE tires that came on my wife's Toyota Matrix only lasted like 5k miles, and sucked from the start.
GTIs come with the same Potenza tires you speak of if requested at no charge. Good tires for sure.AHTOXA wrote:It's a shame that most regular cars don't come with good tires stock.

Re: Does anyone here autocross or race on a circuit?
I have until saturday to decide which tire(s) I want to buy. I'd prefer to buy two better tires for the price of that one POS replacement. I'll put the two tires wherever they seem to be most effective, so long as I have some cleancut proof that whatever make and model I buy does indeed outdo the one that I have.
Without recommendations, I have no choice but to stick with what I have. I don't want to start messing with the cars handling. I want to keep it as bad as it was, not make it worse.
What to do?

unless you are running road race slicks or azenis rt615s youll be hard pressed to worsen the handling by getting new tires

Never get all seasons they are suck.

Well, I don't have money to spend on my car, and even if I did I wouldn't spend it on this car. So, seeing that I need to buy tires, I want one set that will work year round until these things expire in 40-50K.
I can walk into costco and get 2 of those put on for the price of one S32A at toyoter.
Should I do it? If so, how do you guys feel about the gForces?

Well, I made a comment recently about all-seasons being "no-seasons" but that's a bit over-exaggerating on my part. There are a few good choices out there withing the high-performance all season department.

They make an All-Season version of the g-Force, too. It's called the g-Force A/S (Original though that is).

I suppose the definition of a race car is rather vague.
