Driving a VERY cool car!

Post by GarySheehan »

I am pretty excited about this, so I figured I'd share. A friend of mine owns a vintage race car that he is racing at Infineon Raceway the first weekend of June. He will be doing some testing the week prior, and asked me to join him to do some driving/set-up work on the car in the morning, then coach him in the afternoon.

The car is a 1968 McLaren M6B
600hp Chevy small block
1700 lbs
:)

Here are some pics of the car...

Marshall is going to be there as well taking some photos and hopefully putting his trick new bullet-cam video system on the car.

I'll keep you guys posted...

I'm checking it out? Or maybe I wanna use different smileys for a change. I don't know, but when I think of old vintage cars, I think of cars that look boxy or no curves.

Huh. The majority of the sixties era Can-Am race cars and sports cars were pretty curvy.

Yea, but I keep thinking of the cars in the 20's and 30's. Don't know why :|

Anyway, it's a hot little car. Looks like a mini F1 car to me 8)

Right. I think your comment made Zender's day because it (the yellow one) doesn't look anything like an F1 car. Any F1 car. ;)

Here, see for yourself...(very cool links, by the way)

Wow. For me, 1700 lbs / 600 hp = a new change of shorts. It'd still be pretty amazing. Enjoy! :D
