1989 Nissan Sentra
I am offering up for sale a 1989 Nissan Sentra.
5 speed manual transmission, 1.6 L 4 cylinder engine, 166k miles.
Car has a valid VA inspection sticker untill November of 2005.
This car has a little rust in the body.
Handles speeds up to 85 MPH (as fast as I was brave enough to go) very well.
Starts good. Runs good, may need a new clutch in the next couple of months. Depending on the driver.
A good starter car for a beginner.
$150 OBO

Its there for the taking. Like I said, as far as running, sometimes when climbing steep grades, the clutch slips a little, but it still gets around.
I priced a clutch kit at advance for $100, considered replacing it, but then I found this car I have now, Im only getting rid of it becuase I cant afford so many cars on my insurance policy.
PS: Dont worry folks, Im still a standard shifter, that isuzu pickup in the back is mine, and its a 5 speed.

It will make it to Raliegh. My wife used to live in that area, Ive drove the car in its present condition back and forth from Bedford to Pulaski all the time.
Dont underestimate based on the picture, that car runs like a beast. Handles the interstate very well.

Where's B.A. Barracas when you need him. Some steel plates, a hood ramp, a little welding, a machine gun turret,- we'd have a fine urban assault vehicle! In all seriousness- given the number of people that keep asking me to let them learn to drive MT on my new car, this "jalopy" might be worth acquiring.

As long as you understand what constitutes abuse and keep them from doing it, teaching really isn't that bad on the equipment. If you don't keep an eye on them or let them borrow the car, you might have a problem, but supervised, it doesn't have to be that hard on the car. There are tales told 'round the campfire of quarter-million-mile clutches in vehicles used to teach kids to drive.
