Unfortunately, to floor it in first means I am at redline and bouncing off the rev limiter before the "OH" in "OH $#!t!" from any passenger I might have. Off course that is primarily due to no traction in 1st or 2nd...

Generally it depends on the factors listed above, gearing and the car's relative power; with traction being the unknown.

haha. I think its time to invest in wider and stickier tires for your vette.

Does it not have traction control?

I have the stock Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars in 295/35-18 in the back... My wife's H/C/I/E/S/N Camaro SS has 315/35-17 Nitto 555R's on the back and that car without VHT is like skating on ice!!

I was thinking about upgrading to 305/35-18 Nitto 555RII's for the Z06. Although, I have read the GY F1SC's are one of the best street tires for the Vette... :?

BTW, it does have TC/AH but I drive in "Competition Driving" mode, with the TC off and the AH on.

when you lose traction off the line. Thats the only time I'd use traction control was for things like that, but for normal driving I like not having traction control.

I'd move up to some 305's at least, 325's would be nice.

I saw a guy's 750Li the othr day, and his tires were 295/25/22 Those were huge.

My tires are good for rain but 245 all seasons mated to 400 ft lbs means if i pound it in 1st it will take me a bit of time. But being sideways is fun :)
