This car review bashed subaru big time. In 98, scoobies have not been synonomous for performance yet and this critic was way off. Kind reminds me of pre-WWII science movies that say "by 1970, man will be living on the moon!"

I read this a couple of years back and wondered what was wrong with these two brothers. Most of their reviews are good and informative, but this is one of maybe a handful I've read that doesn't even give the car a chance, for no real good reason of course... kinda like their pathetic argument against engine braking

personally, i dont like suburu, but i would take a camaro over that any day.

two things:
1 - never take cartalk seriously, especially when it comes to fast cars - they call a spade a spade. no one needs extra velocity and they aren't afraid to say so.
2 - the RS did suck. subaru should not be making sedans.

Just to let you know, man did live on the moon. In 1969. For almost a whole day.

Well now, Scooby is making nothing BUT sedans, and they are doing a damn good job of it too

I thought the RS was a coupe, and it was probably Subaru's best model for that time.

Also, it's pretty funny that he talks about Subarus being good, nerdy, practical cars, and how they shouldn't stray from that reputation. Unfortunately, they already screwed up with trying to change that image before (Subaru SVX)

And I would not take seriously any review that calls the RS "too fast".

Now, I would make some comment about how the're prolly just terrible drivers, but I dont wanna waste my breath.
