Fox Body Mustang -- this one's for Inline Paul
Fox Body Mustang -- this one's for Inline Paul
Not sure if you're a fan of The Smoking Tire or not, but the host Matt Farah got himself an ex-patrol car 88 Mustang 5.0 that's about as stripped out as possible. I actually had the same car, minus the notchback. Mine was an 88 hatchback, but it was stripped as well, right down to the A/C delete.
Anyway, I thought this video would be right up your alley:

Thanks Shadow. That is a beautiful car. If it were mine, the only difference would be that I would leave it as is instead of doing the proposed mods to the suspension, paint, and brakes.

I don't understand the fox body Mustang love.
That being said, wasn't the Lincoln Mark VIII a fox body?
Drool...

It was most closely related to Thunderbird and Cougar, which were no longer on the Fox platform by that time.

FORD ANNOUNCES MUSTANG SPECS
"But we’ll start off with Ford which just announced the specs for the all-new Mustang. First up is the powertrain numbers from its three available engines. The standard 3.7 V6 is rated at 300 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque. The 5.0L V8 cranks out 435 horses and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. And the new 2.3L EcoBoost is rated at 310 horsepower and 320 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s also adding some new content as well. We all know about the independent rear suspension, but it will have bigger and more powerful brakes than before and will also have a performance package for the EcoBoost fastback or convertible and the GT fastback, which upgrades things like the suspension, wheels and brakes. The 2015 Mustang did bulk up a bit though. It added anywhere from 6 to 87 pounds depending on the model. That shouldn’t be too surprising, it did get independent rear suspension and was designed to meet more stringent safety standards. All I can say is I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of one."

Those Lincolns had the auto leveling feature. Was interesting to see some of those cars 15 years later when that feature did not work so well anymore. My old boss has an 87 Cougar that I drove some in the 90's. That car was RWD, and had the worst traction of any car I have ever driven. Had a 6 Cyl engine, but did not really have much get up and go to it.

I would gladly take a late 80s/early 90s Thunderbird if it had a 5.0 and a manual transmission. Great looking car and a bit roomier than the Mustang. At 6'1" I don't mind a little more space.

That, and at the terrestrial level, without space we wouldn't get very far.Rope-Pusher wrote:Space IS the final frontier, right?InlinePaul wrote:I would gladly take a late 80s/early 90s Thunderbird if it had a 5.0 and a manual transmission.
