daleadbull - Yes, the Golf R crossed my mind and did check the boxes, but it exceeded my budget. If I had set a budget of $35-40K, then it would have been in the mix along with BMW 3-series, Audi A4, etc. What I love about the R is how stealth it is. As for the GTI, don't get me wrong - it was really nice. I just liked the Si a little more, but lots of people would make the opposite choice.

bk7794 - Very impressive. Just 50 more years and you'll hit the 1 million mark. Hang in there!

... and sorry these are not very exciting shots, but here are two quick-and-dirty iPhone pics of the new car. I chose gray to keep it under the radar, and I'm planning to keep it all-stock.

When you get time, how about an under hood shot? Or does it have one of those new fangled engine covers that prevent seeing the beautiful engine?

I think there is a slight cover that just says the I-vtec, nothing that hides the engine.

Haha I really want to bring it to atleast 400k, though I think it'd take a very long time. I think I might try bringing my current civic up to atleast 250k. Especially if I can stay up on it.

you can also see if someone local will do a trunk swap+cash with you. i don't know if a a regular civic comes in that color or have spoiler options (pre-wired) but that may work out if someone is looking for an oem spoiler..

havoktsx - Great idea about the trunk lid swap. Other (non-Si) Civics do come in the same color. I've never customized a car before, but I'll think about that if the spoiler gets to me.

InlinePaul - Engine pics, as requested. The only time I ever look in here is to refill the wiper fluid :-)

I see a good old fashioned radiator cap instead of a capless radiator where you only ever open the surge tank. Well played, Honda.

Nice engine, Really fills the engine compartment. Should have the battery in the trunk. You at least have to check the oil now and then.

I do like being able to access the radiator directly, though.

Is this in any way related to the 2.4 that the 03 Accord had? I had one of those and thought it was plenty fast, even in the relative pork of the Accord.
