The interior isn't too bad....but the exterior is hideous. Watching the video, that is the first time I ever caught a glimpse of the rear view. If they just didn't make the rear taillights look like they were part of the glass, it might not be so objectionable. Major fail, Jeep.

I was walking thru a garage sale and there was a box of car magazines...actually, most were off-roading magzines.
I thumbed thru the stack until I came to the cover that said "1984 XJ - Is it a Jeep?"
Off-roader magazines can be kinda timeless - old off-roaders never die. I looked at the stack of magazines again. Not one was less than 25 years old. Perfect shape, not yellowed or moldy. I was sprised.
It also seems that almost 30 years ago, (October 1983 Issue), Jeep changed the Cherokee to unibody and folks just knew it would never be any good off road.

Jeeps stopped being jeeps after the CJ7

Put it in 4 low with the hubs unlocked and ur crawling in 2wd lo, such a great option that no new vehicle will do

Seems that the Cherokee will be a bit more offroad capable than I previously thought....but still, it's no Wranger...and it's still hideous--especially the front end.

the look doesn't bother me all these new cars look stupid. it isn't just jeep!

maybe this engine wont break piston skirts and rattle like hell!

I don't like the first one at all, but the second one looks good to my eyes....

Arguable. I think it happened after the TJ. the JK is a fine Jeep but once they introduced power windows it wasn't the same any more, along with other things.

Swapping in manual hubs is easy.

The first one has had too many facelifts and ruined its tear ducts.

I don't like the way it looks but I wouldn't let that be the tell all. to me it looks like something out of a transformer movie.

I have to admit that it's grown on me. The deciding factor will be seeing it in person and not in the lowest trim. I'll make my decision when I see it in the Trail Hawk flavor.
