Ah, that would explain his bias.
This is the new Jeep Cherokee? Seriously?

I say that you're biased and you say that I'm ignorant? Grow up, junior. What exactly am I ignorant about? Don't get all upset because I said you're biased because you work for Chrysler. Did I strike a nerve?Rope-Pusher wrote:

BTW, can't wait to see all those new Cherokees with lifts and 35" mud tires on them
Oh wait...that's a REAL Cherokee.

Yeah, I thought that too. My first impression was that the new Cherokee was the love child of a Nissan Juke and the original Subaru Tribeca.bk7794 wrote:[

Granted, Shadow, to run a serious lift, 35's and seriously wheel it, the original Cherokee needed some body stiffening as it was a unibody after all. So it wasn't really on par with the Wrangler when it comes to near-stock offroad performance, nor was it intended to be. None the less, they are great wheelers.

Yeah, I agree. Still though, I'd say that this new Cherokee will not have anywhere near the capability of the older Cherokees, stock vs stock. I think Rope is living a pipe dream if he thinks the offroad capabilities haven't been "degraded", as he claimed.AHTOXA wrote:Granted, Shadow, to run a serious lift, 35's and seriously wheel it, the original Cherokee needed some body stiffening as it was a unibody after all. To add to that, I think the "Trail Rated" badge that all Jeeps - I believe - carry is a terrible marketing idea. I mean, really? They are really using the term "trail" quite loosely.

Yeah, it's a marketing gimmick for sure. If I'm not mistaken, Jeep offered a Trail Rated badge on all of it's vehicles until they came out with the Compass. I think it was the Compass that couldn't get a Trail Rated badge, anyway. It may seem goofy, but I do think that there are lots of people who get a warm and fuzzy feeling because they own a Jeep that is Trail Rated.AHTOXA wrote:To add to that, I think the "Trail Rated" badge that all Jeeps - I believe - carry is a terrible marketing idea. Doesn't the trail rated feature just offer a skid plate to protect the oil pan, and protected power steering lines?Shadow wrote:Yeah, it's a marketing gimmick for sure. According to Jeep, a Trail Rated badge is a bit more than that:bk7794 wrote:Doesn't the trail rated feature just offer a skid plate to protect the oil pan, and protected power steering lines?Shadow wrote:Yeah, it's a marketing gimmick for sure. Should get great CAFE ratings, as it appears to run on krill.

Looks way too luxury, they shouldn't build a Jeep people would be embarassed to take offroad because it might scratch the paint.
