You must be getting very good fuel economy in the Sonic. Interesting the base model only offers the larger 1.8L engine.
I'd also choose the 1.4L. Nice to see a new manual transmission with those tall gears.

I was about to stand corrected when I stated the Subaru Forester was the only new AWD SUV with a manual. I saw the Suzuki Grand Vitara on Shadow's list - but then saw the 5 speed manual is only with RWD.

My '79 Saab was a 4-speed manual. Good thing it didn't have a tach - probably better I didn't know how high it was revving on the highway. And that's when the speed limit was 55.

Correct, once the speed limit was raised that's what happened. (Not really - traded it in for an '84 Honda Accord)

I see the 1.4L in the Sonic is an optional turbo engine. Interesting how much power a small turbo engine can put out. Ford offers a 2.0L 4 in the Exploder (Explorer)
