Yea, what Ash said. I actually f**k love the AR 75, I want one just like Clarkson had on the Alfa challenge on Top Gear. IMO, it looked the best out of the three (when they got it)

Re: RWD cars, cheap, list
It's okay. I still have the Alfa Virus BAD.
But they seriously do catch on fire some times. Both times (I've heard of) it was the (primitive) live oil line to the OP gauge. It would come loose and drip oil (flammable) into the switch. After the S1 GTV I think they stopped using that...

Re: RWD cars, cheap, list
lol Alfas are nice. My friend used to own a '85 GTV6. Of course, it was the most unreliable car I've ever seen. And the hardest to work on. Pretty much ANYthing is more reliable and easier to work on than an old italian car, doesn't matter if its Japanese, German, American, etc. Even so, I really liked the car when it did work. It was really unique, had a lot of character, and was pretty fun to drive. I think 'fun to drive'>reliability, at least as long as you can sometimes drive the car. He sold that Alfa and has owned a '88 Fiero Formula for a while (sadly its 3-speed slush), and after fixing an idling issue the Fiero came with, its been a VERY reliable car. No problems, pretty much, besides a loose belt.
Now, this friend just bought a '76 Fiat 124 Spider. I swear that when I looked underneath that car, the frame was covered with rust, if not turned to rust completely. The top is gone, the lights barely work, the radiator is busted, among other things. There's a big rust hole under the driver's seat, so its supported with a 2x4 . However, I would love to drive the car, its 5-speed . I went for a ride in it and it actually felt pretty solid; but it definitely isn't a fast car . It'd be a nice weekend car to continuously fix and rarely drive, but my friend expects it to be his daily driver . He's going to sell the Fiero soon to put the money into the Fiat, I can't see the Fiat being reliable enough to get him to work. But eh, w/e, parts for it are kind of cheap and its a MUCH easier car to work on than the GTV6 .

1. He needs to look at the engine timing if it's not that fast, Fiat, Lancia, and Alfa are all sports car manufacturers and should do 0-60 in the 8's floored.Tinton wrote:Now, this friend just bought a '76 Fiat 124 Spider. 2. It sounds like he really just needs to rip the engine and junk the car. Anything that sounds in this poor nick shouldn't really be driven.
IDK about the GTV6, but my GTV is relatively easy to work on. The only really inaccessible thing is the steering box. But who really needs to f**k with it on a regular basis?Tinton wrote:... its a MUCH easier car to work on than the GTV6 .
