ok, so much to respond to...

first of all, i still don't fully understand how the DCCD works, but i am almost positive that the default split, in auto mode, was changed in 05, and possibly again in 06. in 04 it was 65% to the rear, in 06 it's 59%... i THINK. i have read so many things trying to understand the DCCD and it still goes over my head. i just leave it in auto all the time. i think though that these split differences are either for the auto setting, or fully open setting. uggh my brain hurts thinking about the DCCD.

2nd, from the pics i have seen of the 07 limited STI, it looks pretty much like an 06 on the front end to me.

initial: if you're going used get an 04 or 05 if you can. the bugeyes are cool but from what i read they have weaker trannies. plus they're older of course.

A SiK STi: PLEASE DO NOT put a BOV on your car. PLEASE. the stock BPV is the best option on these cars. an aftermarket, vent to atmosphere BOV is bad for these cars. you will likely actually lose power and performance, and can hurt the car. now, if you upgrade the turbo itself at some point (possibly b/c you killed it running 21 psi of boost), then you can look into a BOV but with the stock turbo please don't. also, IMO the sound is ricey anyway. here, take a look at this http://www.iwsti.com/forums/showthread. ... ht=bov+bad

Yeah, SiK, I would advise you to not put a VTA BOV on your car. But, if you must, the TurboXS Type-H RFL (stands for Real F*ing Loud) is the loudest BOV on the market for STi's, and it would be a NECESSITY that you retune your car to take a VTA BOV.

it's not such a tough choice if you want to drive it every day and have it last and be reliable ;)

Why don't we just revive the old STI vs. Evo forum again?

8.3 liter v10 producing 500bhp. How does a Subie beat an evo that bad? I drove both the evo8 and a 2006 STi and both felt the same....and aren't acceleration 0-60 figures the same for both cars?? Correct me if i'm wrong.

They both feel roughly the same if you dont take them to their limits.

My guess would be that the extra torque and hp the STi have would mean better acceleration from 70-140mph??? I hard-launched both cars from 0-60 and both felt the same. However, I got the chance to drive the evo to triple digit speeds where it suffers from lack of torque....
