V6 Pony vs.'04 Honda Accord

Post by 07_Mustang V6 »

So the other day I'm at the red light and my friend pulls up in his accord with his dad in the passenger seat. He wants to race with his dad in his passenger seat...wtf? Anyways he got right about 3 lengths in front of me but once I got to about 2.5k revs in 4th gear I was far and gone. I just wondered why that is I thought the accord was supposed to be faster than a stock v6 mustang. Was it only due to the manual transmission compared to the automatic?

A Tang vs a 04 Accord?

From the information you've provided, the 04 Accord:
160 hp
3,117 lbs

Your tang is putting out 210 hp
3,351 lbs

I'm not surprised you won :D

Many of us on this forum and other forums will quote this list when comparing cars, it's best if you just see it now: http://www.exoticcarsite.com/0-60-quart ... -times.htm

Asked him about the engine at school today. He has no idea. What an idiot.

You'd be surprised at what some people don't know about their cars. For instance, the high beams light. It's a blue illuminated icon. How do you not see it or not know what it is?

They don't know...maybe it could be telling them that their headlights are sad, hence blue.

Haha ^^ It would be fine if he didn't brag about all the things hes gonna mod on his Honda at school all day long. Every time I confront him while hes bragging he messes his story up and people laugh so he's starting to dislike me. For instance, the other day he was talking about getting a sway bar so I asked him why and he said to get more stiffness out of his suspension. Personally I think in Florida where there's no hills, low speed limits, and in my city the roads are in good condition buying a sway bar is somewhat pointless because you don't have that much pressure on your strut towers driving. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I told him and he didn't know what to say.

tell him he should get a gigantic wing on it too because he needs so much rear downforce on a front wheel drive car. also he needs stickers. lots of stickers. each sticker gains at least 5 hp!

I will actually. I'm gonna see if he laughs when I tell him about having too much rear downforce and then see if he notices that I'm wrong or not. That's gonna be the final thing. I honestly don't think he knows if his car is RWD or FWD.

Actually, he's right and you're wrong. A sway bar does stiffen things up a little, but more importantly, it helps avoid body roll. If you have bumpy roads it can make your car handle worse (as well as make the ride worse), but on smooth roads it will help handling. It's worthwhile for handling regardless of where you are.
