Re: Driving Shoes
I have Puma Liga's (basically Puma's version of the Adidas Samba) and they're pretty good, they grip my stock Toyota pedals nicely. I have another pair of shoes that's just amazing for driving like a maniac though, Adidas Nastase. They're a bit heavier than my Pumas so when i hit the brake, gas, or ...

Re: 07 Tacoma X-Runner vs. 06 Monte Carlo Intimidator SS
Sweet, way to show his ass. I'm guessing you have the V6 right? Those trucks are scary fast. I wouldn't say those trucks are very light though. A 2005 X-Runner weighs 3690 lbs. On the other hand, even with my measly 115 hp, I've surprised quite a few people with the 2315 lb. Corolla. With the stick ...

Re: Corolla vs Echo
Oh come on, quit bashing the Rolla so much. I have a 94 5 speed with a 1.8 and while its not fast, its pretty sprightly. I mean come on, either other people suck major bolts at driving, or its not a half bad car. I've beaten (street racing is bad, don't do it blah blah blah) 2000's passat v6 Early 2...

Whoa so this was a fake? I saw it posted here and on many other forums so I thought it was legit. I almost went!

Re: MR2 repping from nz
Sounds like an awesome car, but you've had it for a day and you've already taken it up to 120? This car must fit you like a glove because it took me a couple months before I was comfortable to take my Corolla to 110. (or maybe I just didn't have any good roads to do it-how are the roads over there?)

Re: One guaranteed way to have fun with the slushie behind you
I've never come within 6 inches of someone's bumper, but I have to admit the temptation is there. I think for now I'll take the above poster's advice and just throw it in reverse for a sec to freak them out.

One guaranteed way to have fun with the slushie behind you
I absolutely love doing this (so it's a bit dangerous, sue me.) If a slushie gets too close to my tail on a hill (I give them fair warning- I roll back a few inches when they're coming up behind me so they know that I drive a real transmission) I like to just let off the brakes very slowly during th...

Re: How's your clutches?
Duh, stupid me. the title is grammatically incorrect, (sorry) and I was just adding the part about the snap braking because neither of the VW's did it that harshly. The driver of the beetle (he drove mine for a bit) said that my accelerator was extremely sensitive also.

How's your clutches?
I've been wondering if my car is unforgiving. I drove 2 VW's in the past month (a 98 beetle and a 20th AE GTI) and the clutches have been super light, no jerkiness when driving at all. I've sat in a Honda Fit and an S2000 and when I pushed in the clutches, they slammed to the floor because my foot w...

Re: Stick Passenger Stories
Well, when I park at school, our spots are on a bit of a downward slope, and when I got to start my car (I push the clutch in) people scream: "Hey, your car moves without starting it!"

Hey Everybody
Hi everyone, I've been waiting to find a forum like this. I've been driving stick since July and I absolutely love it. It has all the good things and none of the bad (I, unlike my stubborn parents, actually enjoy rowing through the gears in Chicago traffic.) Hope to help out the newbie drivers and g...
