Re: Romans Probe GT

Props on the car! Looks like a killer plan - nice writeup. I was wondering about ur camshaft choice- did you research the lift/timing figures for it to make it specifically compatible with your intended hp/torque gain at certain rpm range or was it more like a stab in the dark based on a similar mod?

Re: Summing Up Polish 2008 rally season - best of video

The donuts guy migt've won something- no clue as I don't speak Polish, but found it interesting enough to warrant some viewing. The 2:25 tire was ace- the guy probably didn't realize it at first:) I also liked the 2:05 or so subie logoed junker, which couldn't drift and kept turning around due to su...

Summing Up Polish 2008 rally season - best of video

Re: Snow issues...

Looks to me as a case of insufficient traction at both fronts and rears.

If fronts had a decent traction-u'd get understeer.

Have similar things with my subie- although being awd- i get understeer most of the time which transitions to overersteer and gets a bit tricky with all-seasons in winter)

2nd option is spot on but requires heel-toe. Make sure u practice this before u attempt it on the highway)

Re: Almost blew my tranny...

Heyea folks: Thanks for the feedback) I was shifting at redline but when I encountered resistance when I was trying to pull the shifter in 4th and that's when I lost some speed (thank god:) 3rd to 4th is usually the easiest shift for me - just straight down pulling. My 2nd ends at about 100-110km/h ...

Almost blew my tranny...

Damn - quite an experience with my suby) I was merging onto the highway from the onramp almost shifting to 4th at redline and for some reason experienced synchro resistance while moving to 4th. Was perfectly fine before although not at redline. So i had to wrestle with the shifter and eventually mov...

My turn again: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2327/1560001737_ba787d3c69.jpg I've got to say that looks pretty good, but the text being half on and half off the sign makes it a bit weird. I agree. I tried with it off, and it didnt look as good. If I could throw a third color in there it would look ...

Re: New Nissan 370Z

I feel it's a dumb feature to put on a basic manual gearbox. If you want that kinda stuff - get paddles or drop a semi -auto wrc type gearbox in a car instead of crippling it. Hell, put an autopilot in there - who needs a driver anyway;) I've heard 350 had a shitty clutch engagement in the first pla...

Re: Very nice shifting!

I find that for the same dc revmatch you will always need more time to shift (when u arent braking) since you are doubling actions vs single clutch. My double clutches are faster than my single clutches. Every single time. You are probably not releasing the clutch fast enough or taking a bit long t...

Re: Very nice shifting!

Btw properly done single clutch revmatched downshifts are not really noticable because you won't have to rev as high as with double clutching. I only give about 500 rpm to get to the next gear down vs about 1k when double clutching. Doing it quickly on a regular basis is pretty tricky until you get...

Re: Proper launch techniques for AWD?

Poor Sti) Eventually it had enough. Looks like the guy replaced the trunk to a wrx one as the wrx doesnt have DCCD for sure) Here is a reply I got from Jpeagle dude whose video blauenlanze posted earlier here: " I'm no expert, but basically it is just like in the video. Rev it up to get your tu...
