but no, it doesn't make me want to go faster. I don't get nervous at all going 217mph in an enzo on PGR, but going 100 in my mustang ni real life can get jittery, or taking a corner at 30mphy, as opposed to 80 and slidding into the wall. I thought what they meant by "faster" was 5-10 over...

My first thought: "Holy ****, life in our solar system?"

Because as far as I know, there's only life on Earth, and Earth is the only planet that supports it.

All I can find are drift videos... & 240SX Mountain Fun

So even searching 240sx on YT got me a bunch of drift videos and/or people doing crazy stuff with their cars...and I can't find any where the car's actually stock. Where's all the videos where people actually do stuff that doesn't get the car wasted? Furthermore, if I find a good video its usually p...

Games “make drivers go faster”

A classmate posted this on my computer class' forums...and I wrote up a response. Anyone else experience the same? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6410061.stm My response: Driving games are what made me fall in love with driving, even before I drove on the road for the first time. Driving is a...

Just about a year. Lugging jerks it around worse than adding gas so I try to avoid it. Actually, on second thought the jerk while adding gas isn't so bad, it's just a bit annoying. It's probably better than wearing the clutch. This isn't actually my car, so I'm trying to find a workaround without ha...

Holy crap! That's awesome and sad at the same time.

This reminds me of the time when a small bird hit the antenna on our van. I'm pretty sure it killed it, there was blood on the windshield. Though I wasn't driving I felt really sorry for it, it felt like I was the one who did it. :(

Yes, exactly. It's a problem with the accelerator or something, so I've heard, not the clutch or anything like that. For example: take your finger and drag it across your desk. If you go fast, it is smooth. If you go slow, it jerks. That's what the pedal feels like.

1-2 - jerk, lug, or slip?

So...I drive a '96 Civic which is notorious for its jerky throttle. It doesn't have a tach so I have to guess the RPMs. When I launch, I rev to about 1.5k-2k (probably more on the low side) while clutching out. After I finish I have a few options: give it more gas in 1 which results in a jerk, do a ...

Re: Wheels drive the engine?

So which is it? Do the wheels really drive the engine when you're not adding gas, and the engine isn't burning gas then? The wheels drive the engine when you take your foot off the throttle and are above a certain RPM (1600-1800 in most vehicles). But then why does the engine still make noise then?...

Thanks guys!

I've noticed there's a few of you live around the lower mainland area.

Oh, one thing I have to admit though, I notice that there's actually a lot of standards on the road now that I'm accustomed to listening for that engine pitch change. It's pretty cool when I hear one go by. :D

Wheels drive the engine?

From the FAQ: Coasting: The car requires no torque. You can coast down to stall speed in fifth, since the car requires no torque from the engine. (This is why some people suggest that it is better to coast in gear -- letting the wheels drive the engine, consuming no fuel -- than to coast in neutral ...

That's what I do too.
