I quite like that barefoot idea by the way. I've never tried it but it makes sense. I'd probably wear socks, or maybe those Vibram "barefoot" shoe things. I can see how your foot could feel a slight vibration as the clutch engages that you wouldn't be able to feel wearing shoes or boots. T...

When I drove my first stick shift (a friend's old Fort Escort) and later when I got my own (a VW Jetta) I was terrible at it. Jerky starts, occasional stalls, rolling back on inclines etc. Hills weren't much of an issue since I lived in a pretty flat region, the tough inclines were the ramps getting...
