Runaway Lexus Crash
http://www.baltimoresun.com/business/la-na-toyota-crash25-2009oct25,0,4872760.story I didn't hear about this until I saw it was one of the reasons for the current Toyota gas pedal recall. My guess is that they panicked after the brakes appeared to be broken, and didn't think about the floormat or h...

Re: Double Clutching question (motorcycles)
I'll speak for my type of motorcycle ( sequential transmission, neutral between 1st & 2nd ), as that's what I ride. To answer the OP, double-clutching really isn't possible unless you're going up from first, or down from second, as the rest of the gears would require you to pass through others o...

Re: Double Clutching Questions
my high rev double clutch downshifts are faster than it would be to single clutch the same shift because i don't have to wait for the synchro to engage the gear. for upshifts though i don't think it would be. Are you sure it's not effectively the same and instead of waiting for the syncro's you're ...

Re: Max speed to downshift at
I've never seen an owner's manual that said what the limits were for gearing. All I've ever seen is silly things like "You should be in 4th gear at approximately 35MPH". And if they did state limits, they'd be nowhere near what they really are, due to the liability issues of someone going ...

Re: Witnessed one bad wreck and one crazed individual.
Maybe I explained it poorly, but it was caused by the crazy guy passing someone and losing control trying to get back into the lane ( at about 80 MPH in a 35 MPH ).

Re: Witnessed one bad wreck and one crazed individual.
First off, I congratulate you on your instincts to get on scene immediately. I was a certified first-responder for a time, and believe me, there aren't as many people out there as you'd think that would potentially endanger themselves under those circumstances. I'm glad everyone was okay. Thanks fo...

Witnessed one bad wreck and one crazed individual.
I posted this yesterday on yzf600r.com, but I want to post it here as more of a story about what happens when someone is driving 80 in a 35. ** Original ** My wife and I live in a quiet subdivision off of a pretty quiet road with a 35MPH speed limit. We took our dog for a walk after dinner down the ...

Re: Rev Drop Question
I think we've covered the basics pretty well, but I'd like to throw in that there's one variable that always makes it harder or easier for you: Your car! Some cars are just much more finicky to drive than others. I drive a G37S, and it is BY FAR about 100x harder to shift smoothly than any of the va...

Oh jeez, was that a concrete wall that slid down on his leg and crushed it after he kicked the panel out? What's the story on that?!noob5,000,000 wrote:http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/3347/lulztd0.gif

Re: Laser Jammers
For the guy above commenting on speed of light, the way it works is you have to take at least two readings, more than 1/2 a second or so apart. You'll get hit with the first one for sure ( unless they miss ), but then the jammer will kick in and cause an error code on the second one. The only issue ...

Re: Most Hated Family In America is at it again
Don't worry, we won't hold you to anything, since there's no free will That one i've gotta answer.. We have a LOT of free will. it is because of your free will you can chose to deny christ, and to sin. You have the free will to do anything you want, to think anything you want and to say anything yo...

Re: Most Hated Family In America is at it again
Alright, if you can't figure out how making jesus be terribly stressed makes him look good, then I can certainly see how you got hoodwinked in the first place. And as for straight off Jesus's tongue, I'm going to have to call BS on that one. Dude didn't speak English, and Dude didn't have a scribe f...

Re: Most Hated Family In America is at it again
EXACTLY! this is why i dont like arguing with people that dont read the bible against this topic. You cant argue with facts your not aware of. Look - when jesus was on the cross, the man next to him said 'dude your God, just get off and maybe get us off too" Then the guy next to him said "...

I think they had some sort of guarantee on at least a 1000% Kill/Death ratio if you sent them into a battle. Other than that though, anything was game.Nychold wrote:When the Romans are concerned, nothing is guarranteed.
