Re: What is a weird habit(s) you have that no one else does?

I never just yank up my parking brake. I always push the button in, yank it up, release the button, and let it lock in place. I don't like the clicking sound. I have a friend that doesn't even yank it after he pushes the button, but gently pulls it up. I think he's afraid he'll break it. When I gav...

Re: BEER THREAD!

I never had the Ayinger Brau-Weisse, but their Ur-Weisse was DELICIOUS.

Re: Economic Stimulus Money

I got mine earlier than I expected, too bad it's apparently going to pay my deductible on repairs.

Because it earns you 100 cool points if you know how to do it.

Re: Upstate NY SS Meet

I'm going on vacation the 10th-17th. And my poor car is going in for some body work; I'd rather not have a meet until my car is back, but if I can't make it there's always next time.

Re: New Stick Driver

Welcome to the site!

Regarding launch RPMs, I tend to launch my car at 2000 on flat ground, mostly because when cold it idles at ~1200 and no-gas launching makes for a sloooooow launch. If I accidentally launch at 4000, my crappy all season tires break loose.

Re: If you could choose any one car...

1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS

Or maybe a Plymouth Barracuda, with the 440 engine.

I hope money is no object in this scenario because I'll be filling my tank every day if I had either lol

Re: shoes/no shoes

I've only ever driven with shoes on, and I'm never wearing any kind of shoe that would be bad/dangerous to drive in. I've actually been thinking about getting a pair of Vans or Airwalks for driving instead of using my running shoes. I did seem to prefer driving my Chevy with boots, less padding so a...

Re: New Member/Driver!

I'm going to be a counter-point to the Honda Haters of SS and say I absolutely love my 2004 Civic Si. I will say, though, all the other trim packages are pretty much craptacular.

Also, welcome to the insanity!

Re: Another Day, Another Idiot Driver (Misc Thread for Stories)

I hope your insurance doesn't go up. You and I both. As for the quality of drivers in this area, I can honestly say that although traditionally the CT drivers were more likely to be morons, not a day goes by that someone does something stupid or confusing that they are lucky didn't cause an acciden...

Re: Another Day, Another Idiot Driver (Misc Thread for Stories)

Long story short, I was driving some friends home last night and someone either turned left through a red or came up from behind me outta nowhere and tried to get around me. I was fine, as were my passengers. My car, however, didn't fare so well. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v710/Soulwound/CIMG...

Re: Anybody else shoot?

I have a .22L rifle, a 16 gauge, and a 20 gauge.

Haven't really shot the shotguns, my dad gave them to me a few months ago, they were his from like 40 years ago or so. I've also shot a revolver, but pistol permits are a real pain in the butt to get around here.
