90s and early 2000s Pathfinders we're similar to xterra in off-road ability, but Xterra has better aftermarket support

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I'm actually kind of interested in the JL. From the brief exposure I have had so far, it has potential. That said, I would not seriously consider buying it until its second or third year in production. I've been burned on a 1st year car (my 2012 Sonic was a flaming dumpster fire of issues and I was...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I've briefly driven a Tacoma. Their option book with respect to engines, cabs, and beds is better than Colorado's if you want the correct transmission, but that's not saying a lot. Wrangler is a lot of money for what it is. If I could fit into a Tacoma, I'd have bought one. As for Wranglers, they a...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

With no badging, the Nissan in that vintage that would probably be considered most worth importing would be a Skyline. I've seen a few R32s and know it's not one of those. This was a weird little hatchback that sounded really sick. I saw an R32 today. It was stranded on the side of the road and the...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I saw the updated Jetta, in pictures of course, and it was a yuge letdown compared to the artist's rendering RP posted. None of the lines seem to work and 1.4T only(!?), see. Maybe it'll work better in the metal, but the pictures make my eyes bleed. Agreed there. I saw it in pictures and it was jus...

Re: Finally got another car

Amazing how terrible the gearbox is in the winter. I've done some research and many people complain about getting locked out of first and second when the gearbox is cold. What's funny is sometimes I get locked IN first gear. Makes for some sticky situations. Like almost getting T-Boned a few times ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Picked up a new laptop the other day, but I must say that I fully admit that it's a bit of an overkill for me and for what I do. I wanted an upgrade from my perfectly functional but somewhat aging dual core with integrated graphics, but I'm afraid I went a little too far. I do perform photo editing...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I guess I'm just gonna rent a canoe come this spring and try it out with the two dogs and what not. I'll see how it goes. I did measure the longest wall in my apartment, though, and a 16' canoe would be a tight fit, so I'm not even sure I want to deal with that. I might just rent a canoe as I need i...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Been there, done that. We collectively prefer the kayaks. The canoe is also just too damn inconvenient to deal with. Its too wide to fit on my roof racks, so I either need to make extensions or continue to transport it on the trailer. We bring it out once a year for our major camping trip, and even...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

In other news, I'd like to acquire a canoe, but have nowhere to store it. In related news, I have a 14 foot canoe that I don't want, but cant get rid of because its from the wife's grandfather and hes not dead. Take it out on the lake (maybe not now, but in spring) with the pup. You might like it a...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

We had a very small chance of a while Christmas but that didn't happen. It will be cold enough in the morning but no precip.

Re: The new Ef One Fiddy

Yes, I have a fireplace in my apartment (technically not a house). well, guess you might want heat when it drops down to 50* down there... :P  It's 36 right now and I've got the fire burning hot in the fireplace. Going down all the way to 28 tonight. But, that's kind of rare - this little cold...

Re: The new Ef One Fiddy

Did I miss something? Since when are there two dogburts? My infrequent time behind the wheel of my friend's F-150 leave very similar impressions. reading comp fail :?  Where's the comprehension failure? I legitimately don't recall where his ladybro's dog was in the picture. Different la...
