Re: The new Ef One Fiddy

Yes, I have a fireplace in my apartment (technically not a house). well, guess you might want heat when it drops down to 50* down there... :P  It's 36 right now and I've got the fire burning hot in the fireplace. Going down all the way to 28 tonight. But, that's kind of rare - this little cold...

Re: The new Ef One Fiddy

Did I miss something? Since when are there two dogburts? My infrequent time behind the wheel of my friend's F-150 leave very similar impressions. reading comp fail :?  Where's the comprehension failure? I legitimately don't recall where his ladybro's dog was in the picture. Different la...

The second dog is the GF's dog. He's a 60 lb Border Collie-something mutt.

Re: The new Ef One Fiddy

It's been a little over 1 year and 17k miles with my F One Fiddy. So here are my long-term impressions as well a few thoughts now that some time has passed and I've formed a few opinions. The likes: The 2.7 is a jewel; with 325 hp and nearly 400 lbs of torque I have never felt that power was lacking...

Re: Where can you work on your car?

If you live in an apartment, where can you go to do things like Oil changes, brake pad changes, engine swaps and other automotive related things? I also recently became interested in Overlanding. If you're on a long road trip, where can you change your own oil or do any other maintenance while on t...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

So, the downtown Plano apartment did not work out. After being set on moving in there for a year, I moved in and on the first night I realized that there's no way I'd be happy living there. Long story short, I ended up moving twice in a 3 week period all while going through the busiest annual times ...

Re: Everything you NEVER Wanted to Know About Stop/Start

I have auto stop/start in my truck and to be honest, I don't see the value in it, nor real life fuel savings. I've left it on for extended time and I've left it off. No real difference in fuel economy that I could see. It just gets annoying when the a/c is on, because it restarts the motor just 20-...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

i thought apple was the only one who did this no SD card thing, but now a lot of them are doing it. Apple also seems to have paved the way for the invisible headphone jack, as others have adopted this practice. price gouging on upgraded storage bothers me a little. what really bothers me is they ha...

Re: Change your rearview mirror bearing

I swing my mirrors wide and prefer it that way. This is the right way to do it. Many of us are taught incorrectly that you should just see the side of your car when adjusting mirrors. In my opinion, that's completely wrong. The mirrors should be much wider than that. Ever since adjusting them corre...

An inactivated smartphone (or even dumbphone for that matter) with a big microSD card is an effective device. Make sure it's sdxc compatible and slap in a 512GB card. Carry another and swap it in easily for a terabyte, or wait a little longer for terabyte cards to hit the market. Wait, nix that, th...

Re: Wow, that must be some bike!

I've never owned a Ducati, but there's something viscerally mechanical about the rattle of their dry clutches. Some say the bikes sound broken with them, but I like it.

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Moved out of my old apartment and into a new one 30 minutes away all within 6 hours, including 90% unpack. The packing part took 3-4 hours only over last few days. The longest part? Getting rid of all the stiff I didn't need so I wouldn't have to move it. Living downtown Plano now. I think I'm going...
