Re: Hey guys

Yeaaaaa, found it! It was an old email that I didn't use often anymore, I was waiting for my gmail to load, wasn't even thinking and this old screenname popped into my head, funny how that stuff works...

I got my wheel bearing today! Man that thing is heavy for its size...

Re: Rev Matching Help....

I double clutch 1-2-3 and single clutch 3-4-5 when shifting up. I double clutch every downshift though.

It does help smoothen out the shift, although I do agree it's not necessary, it's definitely not worthless.

Thinking about sucking up some Seafoam

I hear it's pretty great stuff, and it's bad to use on old engines because sometimes the old carbon buildup is what keeps the engine compression stable anyway. My car's like 15 years old, very well kept, from what I know anyway, and it's only got 60k Miles, a little under that. I was thinking about ...

Re: Anyone else got a modern BMW?

I got a 1995 325iC, I think I probably worded the topic wrong, I don't have a MODERN BMW or anything, Just wanted to know if BMW changed it in their modern cars.

Re: Anyone else got a modern BMW?

Haha, wow, I had no idea car keys could be so expensive! I made 3 copies of my old car keys for like 2 bucks a piece, I thought that was the norm. I did my car again, there is indeed no button for power locks anywhere, for the most part other than the onboard computer, the only buttons I have are 4 ...

Re: Thump between gear changes

Yea I definitely have the same problem, I get the thump but it's just me dumping my clutch a little to fast, I just let it out a tad bit slower and try to catch the correct RPM as it's dropping and it's a smooth shift. Just something to get used to since you still have the same muscle memory from yo...

Anyone else got a modern BMW?

I remember back a few years ago when I had my Mazda, it was a normal car and it was kind of just like everyone elses. However this BMW is so completely different. Few things I noticed about mine is: You can shift into reverse while moving forward if you wanted to, Couldn't do it in my Mazda You can ...

Hey everyone, I'm back ;D (Updated)

I don't know if anyone remembers me, I had been a really active poster on this site a little over 2 years ago, but I ended up getting stationed in Japan and lost my car, and thus my interest in this site. Just got back to the states 4 days ago and I already bought another car, a Manual of course! No...

Re: Any other "semi-clutchless" rev matchers out there?

Hi. My name is Brian and I am new to the board. I stumbled upon this website looking for answers regarding DFCO and how it effects the argument of coasting in neutral vs. not costing in neutral. I think it's great that there is a website/board dedicated to the seemingly dying breed of the manual tr...

Re: How to hold/use a 5spd shifter

I'm sure you're familiar with the H pattern for manual cars, so basically with a new car that still has the springs working are the exactly the same thing, except easier, you just don't know it yet. I had he same problem, but this works out well once I realized it. For 1st gear, you move the shifter...

Re: 2nd Gear is notchy only sometime, even after warmup. normal?

It's normal. In my old car I would drive normally, and usually 1st would slipinto 2nd, but sometimes I would just do the normal shift without using much force and it would kind of stop going in. I had to use a little force, nothing grinding or anything, it would like smoothly go in, but just had to ...

Re: GTO or M3 (E46)

I don't know why you're all talking about how you punch the gas and the GTO pins you to the seat...I mean, you're talking like the M3 can't do that. You guys check the Quarter Mile/0-60 on both cars? Alot of E46's have pulled 13.3's, and a couple GTO's pulled 13.1's, but mainly 13.3's just like the ...

Re: Driving Auto After Getting in the Habit of Shifting

I don't know how anyone can possibly do the phantom clutch thing and hit the brake. I mean...even in a Manual, the clutch is to the far left, and the brake is in the middle sort of, in pretty much every manual car I ever dove. Even if I wanted to do the Phantom Clutch thing, I'd probably only hit th...
