I generally brake/engine break to a stop. If it's heavy traffic, I usually do a no gas launch. But I never hold it in gear at a stop. I stay in neutral, even if it isn't the safest thing.

What's UTI?
It's a technical institute where they teach you how to fix cars and stuff. I forget what it stands for, though...

 Don't ride your clutch!

Nice car :D I think you may want to hold it at the friction point longer or release the clutch slower when you pass the FP.

Volkswagen has a supercharger/turbocharger system in the Golf GT. It's called a twincharger. It's not a new technology... Tuners've been doing that for years. Its not a popular option because it is VERY expensive to build and maintain. I didn't say it was new ;) The RX-7 (FD) used a similiar system...

If your uncle barely drives, I assume he doesn't drive hard. A supercharger should give the extra kick he wants.

I'd recommend getting it, but then supplement the rest of the system with an exhaust manifold and a cat back exhaust later on. You'll probably see the greatest gains with that basic set of mods.

You could get a short ram if you can't afford it...a little less power, but it costs like 50 bucks less.

I'd recommend the Prelude-the 2.2L come in both VTEC and non-VTEC. Honda's have light clutches and easy shifters, so you don't really have to worry about the shifter catching or anything.

IMO, skipping gears is a sign of lazyness. How hard is it to shift out of 3rd lower, then shift 4-5 again a few seconds later ... needless to say, I never skip gears on upshifts. Okay. so you have accelerated to 60km/h in 3rd. Traffic is moving at 60 km/h. So, do you shift from 3 to 4 at 60km/h and...

VTEC stands for Variable valve Timing and Electronic Control. Depending on the RPM, the camshaft can switch to a longer duration cam profile for more power.

I saw an Eclipse with a VTEC sticker on it once :D

I brake to about 1000-1500 rpm, downshift, brake...wash, rise repeat until I'm stopped. I usually keep the car in neutral. It's what my dad told me and he drives with me 90% of the time...so I gotta do what he says :D
