Re: 06 Mustang GT lag
For what it's worth, hydraulically boosted controls have existed on airplanes far longer than FBW. You are right, I misspoke. It's especially useful on the B-2 Stealth Bomber. They would not be able to fly without vertical stabilizers if the computers did not compensate with hundreds of micromoveme...

Re: 06 Mustang GT lag
The real issue here isnt Mustangs are shit, its DBW is shit +1. I had no idea there would be this BS with DBW. In fact, honestly....what is the point of DBW to begin with. FBW in planes is a huge benefit because hydraulics can control the control surfaces without brute human strength. I don't recal...

06 Mustang GT lag
Ok...if we can just skip the "Mustangs are S***" rhetoric for one thread, I'd greatly appreciate it. For anyone who owns/drives/has experience with the S197s (05-09s), have you felt lag in the engine revving while downshifting? Specifically, I have no problem with upshifts, they are smooth...

Hey, thanks, I appreciate it. Wasn't sure where to put it. I'll try it out when I get around to the change!

Honda "Service" Light - How to disable after oil change?
Hey guys, a little O/T, but on my 98 Honda Accord, I want to start changing the oil myself. The thing is, after a set interval, it "alerts" me on my dash light that the engine needs service soon. I am wondering, is there an easy way to reset this thing if I change the oil myself?

Re: Clutch with heel planted or whole leg?
I have to agree with my fellow Mustang driver: there is no way in heck that you could ever get our clutch pedals down with just your ankle. Heck, I need to be able to extend my leg almost fully just to get the thing all the way to the floor!

Re: Any other "semi-clutchless" rev matchers out there?
Hey, thanks for the video. Very informative! So you are saying that if the car is in, say, 3rd, going down a hill, and you are in the 2.5-3k RPM range, the injectors have shut off and you are just pumping air? That's great, cause I always wondered if I was using more gas or not. I assume the same is...

Someone got a link to a video of this DC stuff? I've never seen it done and it still confuses the heck out of me.

Re: Waiting on a stoplight
Very interesting. In the US, the hand brake is like the bastard child of the pedal/lever/knob family in the car: no one ever uses it. One thing I cringe at is when auto drivers park this massive SUV on a hill, set Park, and just let the entire weight rest on the Park pin. Then when we get back in an...

Re: Waiting on a stoplight
Haha, thanks buddy . More what I meant was is there really some point behind it? What about those with, say, older GM cars with the 4th pedal parking brake instead of a hand brake? Are they at some sort of disadvantage then?

Re: Driving without a tach
Honestly, I use the speedometer more to figure out what gear I want to be in, as well as the situation on the road, and then just use whatever feels/sounds natural to adjust. Rarely ever use the tach (unless im flooring it and want to make sure I'm not red-lining it).

Re: Waiting on a stoplight
What is it with everyone and handbrake mania? Why not just use your foot brake to keep the car held there? Am I missing something?

Re: What is a weird habit(s) you have that no one else does?
I never just yank up my parking brake. I always push the button in, yank it up, release the button, and let it lock in place. I don't like the clicking sound.
