This, fellas, is how you do a burnout!
I was finishing off the pirellis in my trans am. http://media.putfile.com/Burnout-Cammed-SOM-TA est. 400-450 rwhp, cam, bolt ons, suspension. Well, anyone can do a sitting burnout as it has been shown time and time again. It is easy and all, so we decided to try some long length burnouts. Because Le...

What is a 2step launch?
What is a 2 step launch technique? I think it has something to do with a hard launch at the strip. Anyone know?

Should I not take foot off of gas completely?
I found i can shift a bit smoother if I dont take my foot off of the gas completely when shifting. Like 99% off but still giving some throttle. My friend mentioned the technique and it makes sense, does anyone do this on a regualr basis and is it ok to do? Is it good to do it or not?

I never did that again but it had a lockout mechanism so it didnt completely toast the car. LEase was up soon after so no biggie....

Which pattern to downshift?
I realized i am pretty inconsistent in which gear i drop to when slowing down for a turn say going 50mph. Usually i am in 5th or 6th gear. What is the best gear to drop to in an 02 fbody? Sometimes i do 2nd, sometimes 3rd, sometimes 4th. Heck sometimes i even use a 2 gear combo. They all seem to wor...

1st vs Reverse when parkled.
Does it matter which gear you put the car in when parked? I usually make sure i put mine in the direction i intend to go when i turn the car on (away from fixed objects) so that way I don't have any accidents if i happen to mess something up when starting. I always set the parking brake but i usuall...
