Re: Notchy Gearbox

It's all normal and nothing to worry about. Mine's a little notchy if I shift at low rpms or when the oil isn't warmed up. I've driven multiple Mini's and each car will shift a little differently.

Re: They've taken all the fun out of driving!

I love driving and always have, but I recognize where my weaknesses are and play around a little bit to build upon them when there's little risk of damage or injury to others or me. For instance, I'm not interested in "whipping donuts" in a parking lot with the Blazer, as my friend seems ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I don't trust General Motors as far as I can throw them. There is no way I'd ever spend new car money on a General Motors product. As far as I'm concerned the sooner they fold the better. Can I get an Amen? http://www.marketwatch.com/story/the-10-biggest-car-recalls-of-all-time-2013-02-16 Ford stil...

Re: They've taken all the fun out of driving!

I actually think it's for the better. As mentioned before, lots of these aids are thrown in for safety measures. Everyone on this forum loves driving and thinks of their car as more than just a object to get from A to B. However, the majority of people who drive really just use a car for transportat...

They are fun cars. I have an 05 R53 Cooper S. Probably the car with the best overall driving dynamics I have driven.

Re: Exotic Cars

Paul,

That is interesting that you have seen stickers. The guy that created the website is from Orlando, Fl, but he has never made any stickers. We would appreciate it if we could get a photo of the stickers, because we are very curious.

Re: Exotic Cars

what can i say...made by a college kid. It is his work in progress. Umm yea some of the cars are cool, but others are there to laugh at. I'm with you guys when it comes to a minimalistic approach to exterior mods.

Re: Is it normal for the clutch to be this weak?

It shouldn't slip at all when it is fulled released. It might be that the engine does not provide enough torque to make the clutch slip, but the momentum of everything at 4k is enough to cause slippage. But if you cant get it to slip under full throttle, i guess it is still livable.

Re: Is there a cheap V8 AWD car?

v8 4wd cars tend to get heavy, but like Leedeth stated Audi's come to mind. The R8 and the RS4 in particular which both cost way over $10k. SUVs on the other hand are plentiful in v8/4wd configurations.

Re: race shifting

Maybe have you friend drive your car. Does the car react the same when he shifts?
