Re: Amusing phrases/questions you've heard about your car

"Does it have a diesel?"
"What kind of fuel economy does it get?" (I've had a police officer ask me this, too.)
"Is it reliable?"
"Is that your Mazda?"

And the usual "Why did you get a stick shift one?"

Re: AMG's new 7-speed auto transmission has no torque converter!

Automakers seem to be losing their way with 'enthusiast cars', what with the BMW M5 and the new GT-R being offered with these stupid automated transmissions. Granted, BMW gave in and began to offer a regular 6-speed manual on their M5 after market pressure forced their hand, but I highly doubt Nissa...

Those of you that remember me, hi. Those of you that don't... I've missed quite a bit. Lots of new members here, I see. Hi to all of you, too.

I'm coming out of retirement for this meet. It'll be one hell of a drive, but I'll do it with my girlfriend.

My god, it's been a while.

ok yeah, ummmm NO I believe it was either me or screenname that came up with that, and that was a while back, so I don't remember, all I remember is that it is a pretty good explanation of clutch wear. No, pacroozer brought up the sandpaper thing first. I just twisted his words around so they would...

Because of the way modern cars are set up, there will be the least amount of pumping loss when you open the throttle all the way at low RPMs (2500 RPM and below, anything above and your fuel will visibly drain). I've heard that you should start off easy in first, and then go WOT after you shift to s...

33 MPG if I keep up with the flow of traffic, 37 if I give traffic the finger and stick to the right lane. (33 MPG from a 1.3L piston engine?) I've had it up to 60 MPG on the freeway, but that's if I drive at one speed without slowing down or speeding up.

Hybrids: your fuel economy may vary.

The Z33 is a soggy excuse of a sports car - all it has going for it is a good engine. The one major flaw that I see with it is that people drive them to look cool, not because they want a sports car. That's a major knock against anything claiming to be a "sports car". You don't see poseurs...
